Utah Basketball Player Files for Divorce in Miami

Staff Writer, April 1, 2009

Carlos Boozer, the forward for the NBA team, Utah Jazz, has recently filed for a divorce from his wife. The pair reported that their marriage is irretrievably broken, after over six years together. They have a two-year-old child and a set of 19-month-old twins. Boozer has said that he will try for shared custody of the children and is willing to pay all of the necessary child support. He is also asking for rights to the second home that the couple owns in Salt Lake City, while their main residence in Miami is put up for sale.

Because Florida state law allows a couple to file for divorce without proving fault, the pair will be allowed to legally split. Boozer’s wife said that she hopes that all issues can be resolved amicably and that her only concern is for the well being of her children. The court documents were filed last Thursday.
