Absolute Divorce

An absolute divorce is a state-specific proceeding of family law allowing the complete dissolution of a marriage. Depending on differing state laws, various grounds for obtaining an absolute divorce are permitted, if the absolute divorce process is permitted in that state. An absolute divorce immediately dissolves a marriage, grants both individuals right to remarry immediately if desired, and takes into account all other important family law considerations. The absolute divorce process typically mandates all marital property be owned in common with half ownership, and for child custody and other considerations, a judge will make case specific decisions.
