Child Support Visitation

When a court awards visitation rights to one or both parents, they typically leave it open in nature, otherwise referred to as reasonable visitation. Reasonable visitation allows for the couple to work out a precise visitation schedule around their schedules in terms of time and place. Practically speaking, the parent who was awarded custody has more control over the schedule, and as such is deemed with the responsibility of allowing the other parent to exercise their child support visitation rights. In order for a child custody arrangement to work, both parents must communicate well with each other. If there is any concern about the ability to make a flexible visitation schedule work, couples should seek a fixed visitation schedule which involves specific times and dates in which the non-custodial parent can visit with their child.
