Default Divorce

In the event that one spouse files for divorce, but the other spouse refuses or fails to respond to the divorce filing. The courts will be forced to grant a default divorce based on the failure of one spouse to respond to the other spouse's divorce complaints. Other forms of default divorce are used as means of saving time and money, if both spouses agree to the divorce and do not wish to contest the divorce, nor wish to incur the expense of legal counsel. Default divorces are simple, cheap, and efficient, which is sometimes preferred by spouses who agree on the divorce and the terms of the divorce. Default divorces are common in the dissolution of a marriage that has no children involved and little or no assets to divide.
