Divorce

A divorce is when a husband and wife decide to terminate their marriage and the matrimonial responsibilities. They will no longer be responsible for supporting each other emotionally, financially or otherwise. Once a divorce is completed, both the husband and the wife will be able to date or even remarry whoever they choose. All legal ties to each other have been severed and nothing is binding them together. They can now lead separate lives from each other. A divorce must be filed with the court systems. If no record of a divorce exists, the couple will still be considered married in the eyes of the legal system. Divorces can be either cheap or expensive. Common divorce issues include: property division, child custody, and child visitation. There are several different types of a divorce: no fault, at fault, summary, mediated, contested, and uncontested divorce. Some of the issues can be handled prior to the marriage, such as items that are covered in a pre-nuptial agreement.
