Divorce Child Custody

Divorce and child custody issues are usually addressed concurrently. The divorce settlement deals with finances including both assets and debts. A parenting agreement can cover everything from who will have custody to whether or not the custodial parent can move to a different city. It can also outline a visitation schedule or joint custody arrangements determining who has the child on weekdays, weekends, holidays, and vacations. Medical care, schooling, and religious upbringing are often addressed at this time as well. Most parents are able to work together to establish acceptable terms during the separation period before the actual divorce. Child custody arrangements made during this time period may be temporary but they generally become permanent. Divorce attorneys and mediators can assist in this process if the couple is experiencing conflict but still doesn't want to let a judge decide this issue.
