Unfortunately, children do become caught up in the middle of divorces. The courts take the best interest of the children into account when trying to decide different aspects of the divorce. Maintaining a stable environment for the children, as much as possible, is the number one concern for all parties involved. Children of divorced parents also become members of multiple households and tend to have an extension of family members. If parents get remarried, they now usually have several parents and several siblings and must learn to get along. Being swept from one household to another can be confusing for younger children. The parents should keep in mind that they need to make the switch as easy as possible for their children. This will help the children have a more stable environment in which they can still prosper just like they would if they were living in a single household, dual parent environment.
