Divorce Court

In some jurisdictions there are actually courts that have been developed to handle divorce cases only. Not all jurisdictions have a court that is dedicated to divorces. Most of the time divorce courts are located in highly populated areas such as large cities. Because of the high number of divorce cases, the development of a divorce court helps to take the load off of the regular court system that deals with criminal and other civil matters. The judge in a divorce court is usually an expert in Family Law. You will probably never see a divorce court in a rural area because in rural areas judges will probably only see a divorce case a few times a month; therefore, the need for a court dedicated to just divorce issues is not there. Try to settle as many arguments pertaining to the divorce as you can prior to going to divorce court. This will help to speed up the divorce proceedings in the divorce court.
