Easy Divorce

Many people would argue that there is no such thing as an easy divorce. However, ease is a matter of degree. There is very rarely any reason for a divorce to be dragged through the court system in a public trial (the most complicated and messy alternative). Private mediation is a middle of the road option but costs money many people cannot afford. So, the easiest divorce to get is one that both spouses agree they want and are willing to work out the terms for peacefully. If a couple is serious about cooperating during this process, it can go fairly smoothly. Couples can simply obtain the necessary forms to fill out without the assistance of an attorney. This approach is most successful when the spouses have not been married long and don't have kids. In some states (including New Hampshire and Tennessee), the laws governing divorce are quite complex and make it difficult for couples to use this easy divorce option. An uncontested no-fault divorce can still take up to a year to complete in locations that require a waiting period.
