Fathers Visitation

In the event that the father is not granted full custody of their children, they are typically granted some form of visitation rights. Visitation rights typically specify when the father can visit with his children, where and for how long. The family court system prefers for couples to discuss and agree upon visitation rights outside of the courtroom. However, in the event that the couple is unable to agree on visitation, the court will listen to both sides of the case, and will render a visitation decision that is in the best interest of the children involved. When the court outlines visitation, they often build in a significant amount of flexibility in terms of when, where and how the visitation occurs to allow for the family dynamics and schedules to come into play.
