Florida Child Support Guidelines

Florida child support guidelines are determined by the state in accordance with certain Federal requirements. A typical calculation worksheet will take into account the net income of both the custodial and non-custodial parents. Child support will often include costs for daycare and medical/dental insurance. The amount is increased to account for any additional biological children. However, the amount is not doubled if a non-custodial parent is supporting two children instead of one as long as both children are living with the same custodial parent. If a father has multiple children with different mothers, this makes the calculation more complex. Recently, Florida child support guidelines have changed so that all payments collected by the state enforcement agency can only be distributed to the custodial parent electronically. Parents who do not have a bank account can be issued a debit card specifically for this purpose.
