Limited Divorce

In divorce and family law, a limited divorce is defined as an arrangement that separates spouses from one another through maintain separate residences and separate living expenses, but does not result in a divorce decree or allow either person to remarry. If a person does not have sufficient grounds to obtain an absolute divorce, a limited divorce may prove to be the second best option. In limited divorces, the courts decide issues surrounding all matters similar to a divorce, such as division of assets, but no divorce decree is made. Additionally, not all states allow limited divorces to occur.
