Parental Rights Texas

Parents of every state have a certain set of rights in regards to raising their children, regardless of whether they are the custodial or non-custodial parent. Parental rights are designed to protect the best interests of the child as well as to allow both parents to actively participate in the lives of their children following a separation or divorce. There are a variety of parental rights listed within the state of Texas in which parents must follow. Some of these parental rights could include: Information concerning the welfare of the child must be shared with the non-custodial parent; Parents have the right to access medical, dental and education records of the child; the right to attend school activities; The right to consult with school officials concerning the child's welfare and educational status; The right to inform the other parent in the event that there is a significant change in the child's status- health, welfare or education. These are just a few of the parental rights available for Texas parents.
