Prenuptial Law

Many people are well aware of the marriage and divorce laws in their state or county, but few consider the validity and importance of prenuptial law as well. It is usually only after a marriage has faltered or failed that one or both parties recognize the implications of securing their assets and property before entering into a legal union. Prenuptial law is usually something involved in discussions around prenuptial agreements. These are contracts that are signed by two people about to marry and which itemizes the value and assets that each is bringing into the marriage. The reason for doing this is to ensure that if one of the two decides to leave the marriage, they will not attempt to do so with a large portion of the assets and property of the other. Most prenuptial agreements also stipulate how much money or assets will be made available to the spouse with the lesser amount should the marriage fail.
