Uncontested Divorce Georgia

Georgia is a state with a no fault variety of divorce on its law books, and this also means that there are ways of having an uncontested divorce in Georgia as well. The state laws view an uncontested divorce as one in which the couple has crafted an agreement resolving any and all issues concerned with their marriage. This is not as simple as it sounds, because they must agree on all financial, property and custodial arrangements to get their uncontested divorce in Georgia. If they decide to follow this course of action then they may be able to have their petition granted in as little as 31 days after the defendant has received their complaint for divorce. (An uncontested divorce in Georgia will still require one party to file the complaint that initiates the termination of the marriage.) If a couple has filed a no fault petition and is using the uncontested divorce documentation, any complaints or conflicts will then force their divorce proceedings into the traditional court system.
