Uncontested Divorces

Uncontested divorces are often referred to as simple divorces, but many states provide residents with access to even more streamlined divorce proceedings such as summary divorces and dissolutions. If a couple lives in a state that allows uncontested divorces to occur, they can realistically save themselves a great deal of money and time by following this route. It is important to note, however, that such a divorce is only simple and easy if the couple is in complete agreement on each and every point or factor. For instance, if there are children and support payments, large amounts of assets and possessions and any excessive debts, they will all have to be dealt with (in writing) for a judge to grant the divorce. It is best to seek a bit of legal advice before beginning any divorce process, even one as straight forward as an uncontested divorce.
