My wife and I are filing for Divorce but we had just signed a lease with both of our names that goes on for 1 year. We are only 3 months into the lease. We have briefly spoken about this but I think we are willing to remain in the same household until our lease expires. Is this possible?

Many divorced couples may choose to continue to reside in the same house during the divorce in order to save money or to make a gradual transition for the children. Even though you going to be living together for only three more months, it may be beneficial that you lay down ground rules for continued cohabitation.
The best way to address these issues is often with a lawyer or mediator. Any agreements reached by the parties should then be drawn up in a legally-binding contract and entered before the court. It is also important to consider the unique nature of your state's divorce law in regards to cohabitation after divorce. Depending on your state, living together may have potential legal ramifications.
