The primary reason most divorces are delayed is that one or both of the parties contest certain issues, such as property division or child issues. The easiest way to expedite your divorce is to work with your spouse to agree on the issues that are likely to come up. If you and your husband agree on who gets things of value and custody/ visitation of the children is not an issue, then your case will take much less time. You will basically work out all the details and ask the court to approve your agreement, instead of fighting over issues, being forced to mediation and ultimately having the court decide who gets what property. Also, if you work together to reach an agreement, you are less likely to go back to court to enforce the court order or have the court hear new issues you have been unable to agree on.
