As long as the stocks were earned and issued by your Husband during the marriage, stocks as compensation in divorce very will be used. Furthermore, stocks held by Americans have increased by 10 fold from the 1990s to present day and is becoming a more common court room matter surrounding the separation of legal assets during a Divorce Case.
However, stocks can be complex subjects of property and can have several conditions and time constraints surrounding them. For example, most stocks cannot be exercised until typically after 3-5 years of vesting, but will also require your Husband to remain an employee of the company the entire time. Thus, there can be complications that arise.
