Recent Divorce Case Names Bruce Springsteen as the “Other Man”

Staff Writer, April 16, 2009

In a recent divorce case, filed between Arthur Kelly and his wife Ann, Mr. Kelly has named musical legend, Bruce Springsteen, to be the “other man” that drove his marriage apart. He claims that his wife of 17 years actually committed adultery with the singer on multiple occasions and in multiple locations. He is asking for joint custody of the couple’s two daughters and that his ex-wife pay child support, as well as the children’s college educations.

Mrs. Kelly has denied the allegations, and so has Springsteen. She also said that she filed a domestic abuse case against her ex-husband earlier this year and he was, indeed, charged with simple assault and removed from the family’s home for the offense.

Rumors have flown about this affair, and many claim that because Springsteen has a history of infidelity, it is likely that he is guilty of this affair. He did, however, post a statement on his personal Web site proclaiming his innocence and faithfulness to his current wife.

The New Jersey judge who will hear the divorce proceedings has agreed to treat Springsteen as any other suspected home wrecker. She was quoted in the New York Daily Times saying, “Family Court is not unique in presiding over cases that involve enormous personal embarrassment. Openness is the norm, not the exception.” She explained that a desire to avoid criticism would not stop her from involving the testimony and related information regarding Springsteen’s potential involvement in the case.
