Usher Seeks Joint Custody in Divorce

June 18, 2009

According to divorce documents, R&B singer, Usher, and his wife, Tameka Raymond, separated in July 2008- just two years after getting married. The couple is now going through the motions of a divorce and several complications have arisen.

The singer is asking for copies of all of the documents that his former wife kept during the period of their marriage, including:

  • Tax files
  • Paycheck stubs
  • Bank account information
  • Insurance policies
  • Real-estate rental agreements
  • Medical records
  • Automobile registrations
  • Notes
  • Letters
  • Photographs
  • Film
  • Documents
  • Tapes
  • Voice recordings
  • Diary entries
  • Personal notes
  • Records of gifts, including jewelry and clothes

Usher is also asking for joint custody of the couple’s two children. The aforementioned list of documents should be kept by any couple and shared in the event of a divorce. This makes the proceedings much quicker and less painful for both parties.
