FBI Seeking Assistance in Locating 2 Corpus Christi Fugitivees

FBI, Feb 01, 2007

The FBI needs the public’s assistance in locating 2 federal fugitives charged in connection with the kidnapping of their 3 children. Jesus Yanez Aguilar, Sr., 48, and Atiana “Connie” Mendoza Aguilar are both charged with Unlawful Flight to Avoid Prosecution. Jesus Yanez Aguilar, Sr., was charged in San Patricio County with one count of kidnapping on July 19, 2006. He was also convicted in San Patricio County on 2 counts of indecency with a child and failed to appear at his sentencing on July 21, 2006. Atiana “Connie” Mendoza Aguilar was charged in San Patricio County with one count of Interference with Child Custody on July 18, 2006 and one count of Kidnapping on July 19, 2006.

The Aguilars are accused of kidnapping their 3 children, 15 year old Crystal Mendoza, the biological child of Atiana “Connie” Mendoza Aguilar, as well as 11 year old Karen Aguilar and 6 year old Jesus Aguilar Jr., the biological children of both Jesus and Atiana “Connie” Aguilar. The Aguilars are not the legal custodians of the three children. A court order in San Patricio County granted legal custody to Child Protective Services (CPS) on March 6, 2006.

On Friday, July 14, 2006, Atiana “Connie” Mendoza Aguilar picked up the children from their CPS appointed care giver for visitation and failed to return the children as scheduled on Sunday, July 16, 2006. Subsequently, a court in San Patricio County terminated the parental rights of the Aguilars to their three children on December 4, 2006. Anyone with any information on the whereabouts of Jesus Yanez Aguilar, Sr., Atiana “Connie” Mendoza Aguilar or their three children are asked to please contact the Houston Division of the FBI at 713-693-5000.
