Divorce Lawyer Tries to Kill Wife

July 22, 2009

A divorce attorney from Southern California was recently arrested for suspicion that he was trying to hire a hit man to kill his wife. He was held on a $1 million bail under four counts of solicitation to commit murder, false imprisonment, and spousal battery.

According to a spokesperson for the local police department, the attorney was arrested after his wife and other members of the community came forward with concerns for her safety. An investigation showed that over several months, the attorney had sought the help of others to have his wife murdered. He has also had his license suspended two times because of his clients’ complaints.

However, he was set free a few days ago because prosecutors said that they needed more time to investigate the alleged plot. He had to be released because they did not have sufficient evidence to hold him in prison. The investigation is scheduled to continue.
